Calvin Ashley

Julis Calvin Ashley, 81, of Hayesville, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Erlanger Western Carolina Medical Center in Murphy, NC. Julis was born February 17, 1943, in Hayesville, NC to Larkin and Maybel Ashley. Julis loved the lord dearly and was a big outdoors man.

Julis was preceded in death by father, Larkin Ashley; mother, Maybel Foster; sister, Annabelle Rogers; brother, Carl Ashley; brother, Franklin Ashley; sister, Virginia Gibby; and 1 great-grandchild.

He is survived by his spouse, Juanita Ashley; sister, and Bertha Monday; son, Rickey (Angela) Ashley; daughter, Stacie (Brian) McDaniel; son, Nathan (Stacy) Ashley; daughter, Michelle (Ray) Ware; 12 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild.

The following grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers Brandon Hughes, Christopher Hughes, Eric Ashley, Anthony Ashley, Daniel Anderson, Brian Anderson. Honorary Pallbearers include Jeff Ledford, James Hughes, Manson Hughes, Justin Turpin.

Funeral service will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hayesville, NC on May 24th, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Shiloh Baptist Church, Hayesville, NC.

The family will receive friends at Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
