Decator Bradshaw, Jr.

Decator Bradshaw Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 19, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on April 21, 1938, in Hiawassee, Georgia, Decator better known as "Junior" lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his family and community.

Junior proudly served in the United States Army and was a committed deacon of Bell Scene Baptist Church for over 40 years, where he touched many lives through his unwavering faith and guidance. As an esteemed engineer, he enjoyed a great career at Blue Ridge Mountain EMC in Young Harris, Georgia.

Junior's passions extended beyond his professional endeavors. He cherished moments spent riding horses, rabbit hunting, attending dirt track races, and reveling in car shows. These hobbies brought great joy to him.

Junior, was preceded in death by: his parents Decator and Clara Henson Bradshaw; brothers, Clifford Bradshaw, Jack Bradshaw, and Jerry Bradshaw; and sisters, Dorothy Ledford, Betty Robinson, Annie Sue Ledford, and Margie McKenzie.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Martha Bradshaw; son, Derrick Bradshaw; brothers, Leon (Maxine) Bradshaw and James Bradshaw; sister, Opal Carnes; numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of friends. His legacy is a testament to the impact of love and community.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Empyrean Hospice for their exceptional care during his final days.

A visitation will be held at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home, Hiawassee Chapel on May 23, 2025, from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM.

The Funeral Service will take place at Bell Scene Baptist Church on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. David Berrong, Rev. Kevin Moss, and Rev. Jamie Chastain. A graveside service will follow at the Bell Scene Baptist Church Cemetery in Hiawassee. The church choir will provide music, honoring Decator's longstanding commitment to his faith.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jeff Paterson, Bruce Davenport, Randy McConnell, Phillip Hardin, Cliff Bradshaw, and Darren Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearers include Mike Kelly, Scott Bruce, Shannon Moss, and Robbie Moss.
