Karlton F. Van Cour

Karlton F. Van Cour, age 78, of Blairsville, GA passed away December 19, 2009 after an extended illness.
Van Cour was born on October 28, 1931 in Bristol, MA, to Wallace and Aris Van Cour. Karlton worked for Reed and Martin as a machine operator for several years. He moved to Florida and worked his way up to a utilities foreman for the city of Plantation. When he retired, the mayor gave him a key to the city for his outstanding work ethic. Loving the mountains and nature, Karlton moved to Blairsville with wife Doris to retire. He was her caregiver for many years due to her declining health, resulting in her death in 2007. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: daughter Susan Wilson of Blairsville; son Robert Van Cour of Taunton, MA; granddaughter Bethany Wilson, grandson Robert S. Van Cour, and 5 great grandchildren. Other friends and relatives also survive.
