Kathy Taylor

May 1, 1949 — July 27, 2025

Kathy Sprinkles Taylor, age 76, a beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She lived a beautiful life full of love, grace, and creativity.

Born on May 1, 1949, Kathy was raised in Hiawassee, Georgia. Kathy was a woman whose heart overflowed with devotion to her family and faith. She was the loving wife of Terry Taylor; proud mother of Jason (Dawn) and Shannon (Chrisi) Taylor. She was Nana to her grandchildren: Joshua and his wife, Michaela, Jacob, Alyssa, Caleb, and Jaycie. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Posey. Kathy leaves behind many cherished family members, including her siblings, Reggie (Alice) Sprinkles, Roy Dean (Nancy) Sprinkles, and Gail Sprinkles Shatley. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will miss her presence on this side of Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Sprinkles.

Kathy had a lifelong love of creativity and was exceptionally skilled in embroidery, sewing, and crafts. She also had a special love for flowers and design, both in her personal life and in her professional career. She began her interior design career with Don McKee Interiors and later opened her own interior design business, Kathy Taylor Interior Design. She went on to work with homebuilders, specifically Knight Development. In the latter stages of her career, she worked for Porter Paints and retired from Sherwin-Williams. She earned many accolades and was widely recognized for her talent as a designer.

Her Christian faith was central to her life. In her early years, Kathy was a member of Riverdale First Baptist Church. Kathy and her young family became very involved with the children's ministry at Heatherwood Baptist Church, and in her later years, she was a devoted member of McConnell Memorial Baptist Church. There, she began a quilting ministry, using her talents to build a community of comfort for others and to share God's love one stitch at a time.

She found joy in life's details, whether it was finding the perfect fabric, going on a vacation, or enjoying a day of shopping. She grew up learning how to hook a fish like a pro and enjoyed many years of fishing on Lake Chatuge. She loved spending time on the front porch with family and friends, admiring God's amazing creation.

Her generous heart and joyful presence will be missed by all who knew her. Kathy lived life with a servant's heart, always ready to lend a hand and care for others. Kathy's life was a beautiful tapestry of faith, family, and creativity; a legacy that lives on in the hearts of those she loved.

A celebration of her life is scheduled to be held at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Hiawassee, Georgia, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Pastor Steven Taylor and Pastor Danny Byers officiating.
