Kenneth Gorden Thurmond
June 27, 1929 - May 20, 2022

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, 
Kenneth Gorden Thurmond, passed away on May 20, 2022, 
at Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA.  Ken grew up
in Paulding County, Georgia, the son of Harrison Snowden
Thurmond and Carrie Ardillia Robbins Thurmond. 

He worked at Simmons Bedding Company in Atlanta for
43 years and was also a barber in Marietta, GA.

Kenneth is survived by his bride of 73 years, Jo Anne Elsberry
Thurmond; his two sons and their wives, Kenneth Ronald
(Ron) Thurmond (Beverly) and Roger Stephen Thurmond
(Becky); Janice Thurmond, Ron's first wife; his two grand-
sons, Michael Ronald Thurmond and Brian Patrick Thurmond
(Lindsay); and two great-grandchildren, Brooke Audrey
and Addy Sarah Thurmond.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Harrison and Carrie
Thurmond, his two brothers, Leon and Marion Thurmond and
his sister, Naomi Thurmond Allgood. 

His cremains will be interred at Dallas Memory Gardens in
Dallas, GA.
