Leeman Fairley Stamey, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on September 30, 2023, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born in Georgia on August 30, 1938, Fairley lived a life full of love, joy, and passion.

Fairley was a man of many interests and hobbies. He was a proud member of McCaysville First Baptist Church, where he found solace in his faith and the embrace of the community. Additionally, Fairley was an active member of the Georgia Mountain Classic Car Club. His love for classic cars was unmatched and he spent countless hours restoring these beauties to their former glory. Fairley's dedication to his passion for classic cars was truly inspiring.

Fairley also had a close bond with his daughter Cindy (Ron) Mauldin. Together they shared countless cherished moments that will forever be ingrained in their hearts. Fairley's pride in his daughter knew no bounds.

Fairley's grandchildren and great-grandchild were the apple of his eye. grandchildren, Kelsey (Tre) Appleby, Kayla Mauldin, Zachary (Kirsten) Mauldin, Rachael (Brian) Bonner; and great-grandchild, Peyton Downs-Mauldin brought immense joy into Fairley's life. His face would light up whenever he spent time with them and their laughter filled his soul with happiness. 


In addition to immediate family members, Fairley is survived by his sister Shirley (Jim) Stamey Patterson.


Fairley was predeceased by his parents Arvil Stamey and Josie Ellis Stamey; wife, Glenda Querry Stamey; and brother Ronald Stamey. 


Fairley Stamey's impact on those who knew him will never be forgotten. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. He will always be remembered as a dedicated family man, a devoted friend, and a pillar of the community.

A visitation will be held on October 5, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., also at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home.

During this time of immeasurable loss, let us celebrate Fairley's life by remembering the love he shared and the joy he brought into our lives. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
