Leona Thomas Harkins
May 6, 1931 — April 16, 2024
Throughout her life, Leona dedicated herself to her family and community. She faithfully attended Friendship Baptist Church, where her presence brought warmth and joy to those around her. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was evident in every moment spent with them. Leona cherished family gatherings and found great joy in preparing food to share with her loved ones.
Leona's vibrant spirit and love for the outdoors reflected her appreciation for the simple beauties of life. Her laughter brightened every room she entered, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia Welch and Linda (Hardy) Adams; sister, Edna (Charles) Neal; grandchildren Alisha (Dalton) Delozier, Brian (Laura) Adams, Tonya (Jeffery) Jones; great-grandchildren Carlton Delozier, Adalyn Delozier, Braylon Adams, Mayson Adams, and Mady Hope Adams.
Leona is preceded in death by her loving husband Rezin Harkins and her parents Gus and Dollie Thomas.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 19th, 2024 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, GA.
