Lorena Joyce Proffitt

Lorene Joyce Proffitt age 82 from 200 Mt. Liberty Rd McCaysville GA, went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2026.

She was happiest talking about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and praying for those in need. Joyce was always singing and enjoyed working in her yard attending to her flowers. Her love for the Bible was always evident and one of her favorite passages of scripture is found in 1 John 1:2-4.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, several siblings and her husband Oliver Vernon Proffitt.She is survived by her children Chris(Bridget) Proffitt, Leigh Anne(Mike) Thomas, David(Patricia) Proffitt and Allyson (Tim) Callihan and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also brothers, Joe Derrick of Etowah, Tn and Steve Derrick of Erwin, Tn.Funeral Service, on Tuesday February 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home McCaysville Chapel with Justin Payne officiating.The family will receive friends at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home McCaysville Chapel on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
