Lucinda Bain, age 76, passed away on June 8, 2026 at her home in Blairsville, Georgia, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Copperhill, Tennessee, on December 11, 1949 to the late George Bain and Monna Cochran Bain.
She loved her family and friends. She was an avid gardener and could grow anything! She loved to be outside in her garden. She loved to watch the Atlanta Braves and UGA Football. Lucinda had an amazing career in law enforcement, serving 32 years. Her career began in the Gilmer County Sheriff's Department, followed by the Dawson County Sheriff's Department, and ending with her retirement from Smyrna Police Department. She had a very strong belief in her faith in Jesus. She believed in never meeting a stranger, which served as a testament to her faith.
Her family would say that she is best described by the verse:
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7.
Lucinda was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Casandra Smallwood.
She is survived by her Son, Andrew Dawson Millsaps and his fiancee Holly Bryson; siblings, Tony ( Myrna) Bain, Jonathon (Bonni) Bain, Karen Henry; grandchildren, Roman (Kayla) Henderson, and Noah (Alexis) Harris; great-grandchildren, Troy Henderson, Raiden Henderson, Reighn Henderson, Grayson Harris, and Coleson Harris; nieces and nephews, Jeff Bain, Ronnie Rodrigez, BJ Bain, Michael Bain, Chad Henry, Ricky Henry, Shannon Dye, Vicki Ann Long, Amber Stanley, and Joey Stanley.
