Lynn Harper

William Linton "Lynn" Harper Jr, age 72, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Northside Forsyth Hospital in Cumming, GA following a brief illness. 

He was born February 26, 1951, in Chattanooga, TN to the late William "Bill" Harper and Joann Dickens Harper. 
 
Lynn was a retired lieutenant colonel in the US Army and also retired from M&M Mars in Cleveland, TN. He was a member of First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill and active in several committees. He was an Executive Board Member of the Northeast GA Council for Boy Scouts of America.

Lynn lived in Tennessee, US Virgin Island, Alaska, and traveled to many other places but always wanted to come home to Mineral Bluff, GA. He was an avid Alabama football fan and loved animals, especially his cats. 

He is survived by his wife, Tresia Glassman. He is also survived by his lifelong best friends, Todd Dickens, Jerry Whitehead, and Raleigh Woody, his uncle Thomas Dickens, several cousins, and too many other friends to name. Lynn was a people person and never met a stranger. 

Memorial Service, Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, McCaysville, at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating.  Interment will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery in McCaysville, with military rights by the North Georgia Honorguard.

The family will receive friends at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
