Mack Arthur Garland

Mack Arthur Garland, age 83, of Morganton, GA, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home. Mack was born September 27, 1942, in Aska, GA to Elisha and Lillie Garland.

Mack was preceded in death by his first wife, Sadie Garland; father, Elisha Garland; mother, Lillie Garland; brother-in-law, Jack Martin; sister, Hazel Stover; sister, Elsie Crawford; brother, Lenzie Garland; sister, Bertha Foster; brother, Ranzy Garland; brother, Brown Garland; brother, Clay Garland; brother, Lee Garland; and brother, Bobby Garland.

He is survived by his wife, Leticia Garland; son, David (Anna) Garland; daughter, Selina (John) Lucas; son, Dan Garland; Orlando (Rachelle) Perales, brother, Dave (Tammy) Struble; sister, Ellen Martin; grandchildren, Joe (Cathy) Springsteen, Jessica (Kyle Carroll) Lucas, Timothy (Emily Hancock) Garland, Austin Garland; Katelyn Garland; Misty Struble, and Mike Struble; step-grandchild, Sam Perales; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mack was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a P.O.W. and recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He retired after serving 21 years in the Military.

Funeral Service, on Sunday February 8, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home & Crematory Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Joe Springsteen, Timothy Garland, Austin Garland, Mike Struble, and Chris Ensley.

Interment will follow at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Cherry Log, GA.
