Marcus A. Tuschel, 87, of Blairsville, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, following a brave battle with cancer.
A funeral service to honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Marcus A. Tuschel will take place on November 15, 2025. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10AM at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blairsville Chapel. Service with Pastors Jeff Olver and Ricky Powell officiating, will begin at 11AM. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Marcus are encouraged to attend and share in this time of remembrance. As we reflect upon the life of Marcus A. Tuschel, let us carry forward his legacy of love, kindness and devotion to his community.
Marcus was born June 30, 1938 in the Village of Valders, County of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He was the son of John Charles Tuschl, III and Mabel Bertha (Cherney) Tuschl. He served proudly in the US Army from 1957 to 1963. His love of cars led him to become a Mechanic in the mountains of California where he resided prior to moving to Orlando, Florida and was employed as a Retail Manager for Albertsons, Inc. The final 23+ years of his life, he flourished in the city of Blairsville, Georgia.
Marcus was involved extensively in the Blairsville community including, but not limited to the following organizations; American Legion Post 121, Blairsville Cruisers Car Club, Trouts Unlimited, Scott Hogsed Youth Day, Adventurous Outdoor Kids, House of Prayer, First Baptist Church and Union County Alcohol Board.
Marcus is survived by daughter, June (Sergio) Cantu, Milwaukee, WI; brother James Tuschl, Green Bay, WI; nieces: Margaret Haas, Hammond, LA; Michelle (Michael) Hinz, Mt. Pleasant, SC; Deb (Louie) Martinez, Littleton, CO; Kristina (Jamie) Manwaren, Newport News, VA and nephews: John (Tammy) Haas, Sacramento, CA; Scott Tuschl, Green Bay, WI. Marcus was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel Tuschl; sister and brother-in-laws, Margaret (James) Lewis and Lawrence Haas and sister-in-law, Karen Tuschl.
Marcus' family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Chatuge Regional Hospital, Union County Nursing Home and Appalachian Hospice for all the care and concern shown to Marcus during his stays there.
