Margaret Ann Mason Reighard

Margaret Ann Mason Reighard, age 80, departed this earthly life peacefully on June 4, 2025, surrounded by family at her residence in Topton, North Carolina. She was born on August 3, 1944, to Dewitt and Mary Lunsford Masonin in Topton. As a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother she lived a life filled with love and service to her family.

Margaret was a devoted homemaker and a source of strength for her family, celebrating a wonderful marriage of 63 years to her beloved husband, Earnest "Sonny" Reighard.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, brother Junior Mason, and sister Shelby Day.

She is survived by daughters: Sherry (Jeff) Blaylock and Denise (Adam) Cross; son, Terry (Dawn) Reighard, and Stepdaughter; Darlene (Ron) Harrison, grandchildren; Josh (Tori) Carpenter, Jeremy (Danielle) Carpenter, Felicia (Roman) Bailey, Dakota Reighard, Tori (Aaron) Bryson, and Dawson (Emma) Cross, seven great Grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild. She is also survived by sisters, Sara Postell and Ramona (Carl) Sutton; sister-in-law Judy McLemore and brother-in-law Dr. Ike (Robin) Reighard.  Several nieces and nephews which she love dearly also survive.

Throughout her life, Margaret was enriched by her spiritual journey, sharing her passion for music as a member of the Valley River Trio gospel group. Her voice resonated with the joy of her faith, leaving a lasting impact on her community.

Margaret will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering support, and the fragrant beauty of her spirit.

A celebration of Margaret's life will be announced and held at a later date.
