Marjorie Grauley

July 29, 1936 — July 5, 2025

Marjorie Ross Grauley, of Young Harris, Georgia, entered eternal rest in the presence of her Savior on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John E. Grauley, and her parents, Malcolm Dunlop Ross and Helen Cook Ross. She is survived by her sister, Carole Ross Broadwick, of Detroit, MI. She leaves behind three children; Jim Grauley, Lynn Westergren, and Karen Matthews, nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, and seven nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was born on July 29, 1936, and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Wilkinsburg High School in 1954. In 1958, she received a degree in Elementary Education from Shelton College. There she met her husband, John E. Grauley, whom she married on August 22, 1959. From early on, Marjorie had a heart for Christian missions, a passion shared with her husband John.

Marjorie was an inseparable partner and support alongside John through more than 55 years of ministry. As a young family, the Grauleys took the good news of the gospel to Singapore. Following the family’s return to the United States, she and John served together through a ministry career that included Bible Evangelism, Biblical Theological Seminary, Hatfield, PA, First Presbyterian Church, Macon, GA, Westminster Presbyterian Church Butler, PA, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Gainesville, GA, and most recently Grace Presbyterian Church of Blairsville, GA. Marjorie was a gifted Pre-school teacher, Sunday school teacher, and vacation Bible School leader. She had a heart for young women and mothers. She was an accomplished musician and accompanist. Marjorie was an inspired hostess and homemaker, finding grace and beauty in any circumstance. She loved to cook, garden, and she particularly loved flowers.

Marjorie Grauley leaves a legacy of devoted trust in God and service to others. Above all else, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was faithful in prayer and deed through all her years. This love of Jesus created a sweetness in Marjorie that was felt by all. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to those who had the joy of knowing her.
