Mary Edna Tanner

Mary "Edna" Tanner, age 83, of  Epworth, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, in Gainesville, Georgia, due to extended illness.  Edna was born September 18, 1940, in Ellijay, Georgia, to the late William Thad and Ruth Wilson Cochran. Edna was proceeded in death by her ex-husband, Carl W. Tanner, son, Steve Tanner, sisters, Revie Sparks, Ollie Johnson, and Eva Sellers; brother Irwin Cochran, and son-in-law, Jimmy Collins.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Lisa Tanner, daughter, Patty Collins, daughter-in-law, Jane Tanner, sister Beulah Montgomery; grandchildren, Jonathan and Ali Tanner, Michael and Bethany  Tanner, Paul and Amanda Kennedy, Adam and Allison Tanner, and Michael and Jaimee Cooper; great grandchildren, Amelia, Adalyn, and Anley Kennedy, Beau and Emmarie Tanner, Jordan and Jalen Cooper, Eli, Jacob, and Anna Tanner, and Bryce and Tyler Tanner. 

Graveside Service, on Wednesday October 18, 2023, at 2:00PM at Kingtown Baptist Church Cemetery, McCaysville, Ga., with Rev. Milton Harris and Rev. Eddie Tanner officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jonathan Tanner, Michael Tanner, Adam Tanner, Paul Kennedy, Larry Martin, and Bryce Tanner.

The family will receive friends at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
