Mel Aizenshtat

June 20, 1943 — July 13, 2007

Mel Aizenshtat was suddenly taken from us on the morning of Friday, July 13 in his summer home in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Mel was born in Russellville, Alabama and moved to Miami, Florida as a young boy where he met and married his childhood sweetheart of 42 years. Mel and his wife moved to Bonita Springs, Florida and have resided on the west coast for fifteen years.

Mel is survived by his wife, Marcelle Hammersmith Aizenshtat and his two children, Heather Lynn Aizenshtat and Kevin Eric Aizenshtat and his wife Jacqui and Mel?s grandsons Max Jordan and Bryce Champ Aizenshtat.

During his lifetime Mel accomplished success in the Bootery Shoe Stores from Coral Gables to Palm Beach. Mel retired from the retail business at an early age and some years later developed a successful real estate partnership with his son on the west coast. He was fortunate enough to have both his children as part of his team.

His family was always proud of him and the love he provided to each of them. Mel was a charitable, well liked, respected man and one of the world?s best listeners. Among his many accomplishments, one he was the most proud of , was the Humanitarian of The Year Award presented to him by his John R. Wood colleagues. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and although he was taken from his family too soon, his legacy and quiet strength will live on with his family and friends that he embraced.

Funeral Services were in Naples Forida, at the Temple Shalom on Pine Road at 10;00 A. M. on Tuesday, July 17, 2007. Interment followed in Miami, Florida at the Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery.
