Morris "Heath" Graves, age 23 of Marble, passed away Tuesday June 5, 2012 unexpectedly. He was born December 28, 1988 in Cleveland, TN and has been a life long resident of Murphy, NC.
Heath graduated from Murphy High School in 2007. He attended Southwestern where he excelled and was on the deans list while pursuing a future in the medical field. Heath's hobbies included playing games, four wheeling, racing and helping others. He has touched so many lives and will continue to do so while watching over us in heaven. Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Lester and Nettie Chastain, aunt Karen Luther.
Survivors include: parents, Morris Graves of Murphy and Teresa Chastain of Charlotte, NC, paternal grandparents, Albert and Gertrude Graves of Marble; Heather Dehn his girlfriend of six years, aunts and uncles, Linda and Burt Byers, Debbie and Alan Mauney, Bryan graves and Zannie Harris all of Murphy, Steve and Lois Chastain of Mooresville, NC, cousins, Justin Byers, Allie Mauney, Brady and Xander Graves, Allen, Scott, and Ronald Harris, David Chastain, and Lesley Barber.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edward Carter, Rev. Dwayne Barber and Rev. Allen Harris officiating. Music will be provided by Dwayne Barber Jr., Lavonne Barber and Allen Harris. Interment will follow Friday at 2:00 pm in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The gentlemen serving as Pallbearers are Thomas and Troy Sumpter, Shane Hogsed, Justin Henson, Josh Burke, Michael Davis, Abe Ramadan and Brandon Lindsey. Honorary Pallbearers are Allie Mauney, Justin Byers, Xander Graves and Brady Graves.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
