Mrs. Norene Barrett, age 86, of Hiawassee, GA passed away December 17, 2009.
Mrs. Barrett was born on July 28, 1923 in Towns County, GA, to the late Cecil and Ada Stroud Sanders. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Barrett, brother, Sherlock Sanders and sister, Laversie Sanders.
Survivors include: husband, Vaughn Barrett of the home, daughter & son-in-law, Karen and John Gallogly of Hiawassee, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Mitzi and Jeff Walker of Hiawassee, GA, brothers, Junior Sanders of Hiawassee, GA, Elliott Sanders of Hiawassee, GA, Fraiser Sanders of Greer, SC, Dale Sanders of Young Harris, GA and Jerry Sanders of Hiawassee, GA, sisters, Pam Ayers of Lawrenceville, GA and Sherline Rogers of Hiawassee, GA, grandsons, Jason Ray McCoy and John-Michael Gallogly, granddaughters, Lacey Lewis and LaBreeska McCoy, five great grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 2:30 PM from the Macedonia Baptist Church, where the body will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service, with Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. Music will be provided by LaBreeska McCoy amd Dennis McCoy. Pallbearers will be Jerry Sanders, Jason Ray McCoy, John-Michael Gallogly, Marty Sanders, Joe Rogers, Bernie Dubose and Sidney Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Sanders, Elliott Sanders, Fraiser Sanders, Dale Sanders and Jimmy Messer. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will recive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home, Hiawassee, Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 6 until 8:00 PM.
