Randall N Davidson

Randall N. Davidson, a man whose warmth and spirit touched countless lives, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at his home in Peachtree, North Carolina, after courageously battling COPD. Born on October 4, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, Randy's life was a vibrant mosaic of love, dedication, and unforgettable moments.

Randy was a devoted family man, known for his genuine and loving nature, quick wit, and a hint of sarcasm that would always bring a smile. He was both street smart and book smart, embodying a laid-back charm that endeared him to all who knew him. A great son, husband, father, brother, papaw, uncle, and friend, he placed his family and friends at the heart of everything he did. His smile could light up any room, and his fierce protectiveness over those he cared about was legendary.

His proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. Randy cherished attending veterans' celebrations at the kids schools and went to every sporting event or practice that he was able. Family was his anchor, and he showered them with unwavering support and affection.

Randy’s career was as a truck driver but beyond work, he was a man of many passions including riding his Harley and attending every bike rally possible. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, whittling, watching Western movies, working on model cars and admiring classic vehicles. His dogs, especially the German Shepherds he raised, were cherished companions. One of his hardest days was realizing he could no longer ride his beloved Harley—a testament to how deeply intertwined these passions were with his spirit.

A US Marine Veteran, Randy served honorably during the Vietnam War Era and maintained a vital connection to the Marine Corp League in Cherokee County, where he served a term as Commandant Chapter 1011. His military service was a source of pride and that profound pride extended to supporting fellow veterans and participating actively in their communities.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Holloway Davidson; his son, Jeffery Martin, and his wife Tracy; and his daughter, Jeannie Martin. His grandchildren—Jonathan Pumphrey, Justin Martin, Elyse Kamen, Adam Kamen, Rhiannon Martin, and Sarah Martin—will carry forward his legacy of love and strength. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law Glenda Gutierrez and partner Dale Holder, Sharon Moss, Donna Payne and husband Willard, Janice Holland and husband Richard, Teresa Hayes and husband Allen, and Mary Davidson; brothers-in-law Keith Holloway and Danny Holloway and partner Linda Curtis. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends mourn the loss of a truly special man.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth (Pete) and Grover Davidson; his in-laws, Willa Mae and Claude Holloway; his brother, Robert Davidson; his daughter, Jennifer Martin; and his nephew, Billy Morton.
