Ray A Nichols

Ray A. Nichols, age 86, passed away on June 7, 2026 in Bogart, Georgia. Mr. Nichols was born in Culberson, North Carolina on April 19, 1940 to the late Arthur Elijah and Ethner Hyatt Nichols. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving spouse, Brenda Wilson Nichols; brothers, Fred and Charles Nichols, and sister, Julie Rooks. 

He is survived by his son, Doug (Allison) Nichols: brother, Frank Nichols; sisters, Martha McKenzie and Mary Stewart; grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Nichols. 

Mr. Nichols was a member of the Mountain Park First Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He was a Mason with the Sweet Gum Lodge. Ray retired after a 42 year career with General Motors in Doraville, Georgia. He always maintained a strong work ethic throughout his life and always sought to provide the very best for his family. Ray enjoyed watch many different sports but always liked a tight basketball game or close NASCAR race. His faith was strong and personal.

 A funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Blue Ridge, Georgia, with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Steve Ware officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery on Highway 60. 

The family will be receiving friends in a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 12:00 noon until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service hour at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
