Renee' Jenkins

October 31, 1962 — September 26, 2024

Renee’ was Born to Gordon & Marie Lovett on October 31, 1962. She is the fourth child of eight Lovett children. She is preceded in death by her father Gordon Ackley Lovett Sr., nephews Matthew Whaley, Daniel Vann Davis, James Lee Bogle III, and niece Jennifer Whaley; Father and Mother-In-law D.W. And Mary Jenkins, brother-in-law James Lee Bogle II and sister-in-law Doris Bogle. She is survived by her mother Marie Therese Lovett, Husband Billy Jenkins, Son Andrew Jenkins, Grandchildren Brianna Jenkins, Jordyn Jenkins and Cason Jenkins; Brothers Gordon Lovett II, Greg Lovett and Gerrard Lovett (Shelly), sisters Fay Dollar, Angie MacDonald (Robert), Beth Davis (Jay Van Davis) and Leslie Robinson (Michael). Brother-in-law Tommy Jenkins (Lisa) and sister- in-law Vickie Ramby (Dave).

The family roots come from Kentucky and West Virginia. The family was settled in the small town of Whitesville, Kentucky and the last four of Renee’s siblings were born there. At age 9, Renee’ was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Renee went through many chemotherapy and radiation treatments. It was a long, hard-fought battle. In the process of her treatments, her Irish-twin sister, Beth, was burned severely. This caused the family to uproot from Whitesville, KY and move to Mableton, GA. A place where both Renee, and Beth could be treated at the same Hospital in Atlanta. Renee was cured of her cancer and Beth overcame her injuries and burns. The family settled in at the house on Lucinda place in Mableton.

Renee met Billy Jenkins on his 20th birthday May of 1982. It was love at first sight. They married November 26, 1983. Their son Andrew Winslow was born December 13, 1987. To her more than 90 and counting nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews she was known as “Aunt Nae Nae”. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, but the greatest gift of all was to become a grandmother (Grammie). Renee and Billy were truly blessed to be able to by each other’s side throughout the last 42 Years. She gave of herself so willingly and without forethought all her life, and never asked for anything in return. She taught confirmation classes at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic church in Dallas Georgia for thirteen years. She was a team mom throughout Drew’s many years of baseball. Despite health struggles, she worked for many years in office administration and banking. She has been there for many of her nieces and nephews to baby sit and take care of the little ones. All Renee’ ever wanted was for all to see and know our Father in heaven as she did. This was the gift she tried to share with everyone during her life- the greatest gift anyone could offer. She truly knew the meaning of true love.

May she rest forever in eternal peace.
