Richard Rice

Richard Vernon Rice, age 67, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Piedmont Mountainside in Jasper, GA. Richard was born November 12, 1956, in Young Harris, GA to Alfred and Joyce Rice.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Eugene Rice and Joyce Martin; sister, Brenda (Ronnie) Watkins; and brothers, Bobby Rice, David Rice, and Carson Rice.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Seabolt Rice; sons, Thomas (April) Rice and James Rice; granddaughters, Madison and Ava Grace and sister Alfreida Vaughn

He was a beloved husband, father and Pappy.  He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering on cars, NASCAR, fishing and spending time with family.

Funeral Service: Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Music provided by Ruth Bramlett. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Church Cemetery Fund.

Pallbearers: Adam Seabolt, Matthew Seabolt, Jody Seabolt, Matthew Sales, Billy Joe Rice, Freddy Rice.

Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Sales and Jerry Goble.

Interment will follow at Salem #1 (Sugar Hill) Cemetery in Suches, GA.

The family will receive friends at Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Saturday, 10th of February, 2024, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
