Ricky Garland Pittman, age 68, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Mr. Pittman was born on January 21, 1958, in McCaysville, Georgia, to the late Garland Herman Pittman. Beside his father, he was preceded in death by brothers, infant B.R. Pittman, Weldon, Earl, and Johnny Pittman.
He is survived by, his mother Cennie Holden Pittman; a daughter, Kristy (Scott) Damhorst; sisters, Louise Coleman and Teresa Queen. Many other extended family members and friends also survive.
Ricky was always a mischievous youngster keeping his Dad and Mom constantly on their toes. His work ethic began at 14 years of age and continued into a career in iron work for over 50 years. He truly enjoyed being out in God's world of created nature either hunting or fishing. He often hit the road with his Harley Davidson Motorcyle enjoying the freedom it gave and he also participated in many charity rides to benefit others in need. Those rides were always very special to him.
Graveside services are scheduled to be conducted on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 3:30 pm at the Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery in Mineral, Bluff, Georgia, with Chaplain Greg Bailey and Rev. Max Pittman officiating.
Burial will follow the graveside service in the Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his father and brother. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Ralph Gibbs, Chad Bowers, Phil Dobbins, Ray Graham, James Stanley, and Larry Kirkland; honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Queen, Daniel and Steven Allen.
The family will be receiving friends in a time of visitation from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia, on Friday, August 28, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations in Ricky's memory be given to a charity of their choice.
