Lee Craymer, 75, of Ellijay, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Seasons Hospice Cumming, GA. Lee was born December 22, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA to Elmer and Helen Craymer.
Lee worked as an Electronic Engineer L3 Harris. After retiring, he returned to L3 Harris part-time because of his love for the job and the need for his expertise. The L3 Harris work family was a tremendous support system for Lee and his family during his sickness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Craymer; mother, Helen Craymer. He is survived by his wife Anne; sister, Lynne Craymer Croswell; brother, John (Linda) Craymer; son, Peter (Denise) Craymer; grandchildren Jonah (Lacey) Craymer, Logan (Katie) Craymer, Brooke Craymer; great-grandchild, Liam Lee Craymer. He is also survived by his extended family, Anne's children; Cindy (Mark) West, Rodney (Kathy) Thurman; step-grandchildren Brady (Sarah) West, Macy (Josh) Griffin, Savannah Thurman, Emma Thurman, Eva Kay Thurman and several great-grand children. Lee is also survived by special friend to he and Anne, Kay Israel.
He dearly loved his family, friends, and his church, First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Lee enjoyed several pastimes including, collecting model airplanes, trains, helicopters, and ham radios. He was also a pilot and enjoyed many days of personal flying. He was known by everyone for his unusual wit and great sense of humor and his compassion for others. Lee enjoyed his beloved pets. He was most known for his great skill of photography. Lee always enjoyed baking cookies with his granddaughter Brooke.
Lee and Anne particularly enjoyed traveling together They visited many places including the mountains, the coast, and The Holy Land.
Funeral Service, on Saturday June 18, 2022 at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill with Rev Matthew McDaniel and George Dirling officiating. Music provided by First Baptist Church choir and Edward Vest.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill Saturday Saturday, 18th of June, 2022, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
In Leiu of flowers the family request donations be made to First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill in memory of Lee.
