Robert Edward Barclay

Mr. Robert Edward Barclay, Jr. known as "Bob" age 87, of Copperhill, TN, passed away Monday March 12, 2012 at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Barclay was born April 13, 1925 in Copperhill, TN to the late Robert E. Barclay Sr. and the late Marylu Thompson Barclay. Bob was in the US Army Signal Corp serving in Europe and in the Pacific during WWII. He honorably served as the Mayor of Copperhill, several times, the Polk County School Board and served as chairman, the City Council Board. and the Township Commison Board. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Kiwanis. He was also a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Barclay.

Survivors include: brother, Fred (Libby) Barclay, niece, Karen (Robin) Ernst, nephew, Scott Barclay, and great niece, Meredith Ernst.

Memorial Service: Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 1:30 P.M. at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leslie Daniels officiating. Music provided by: Mr. & Mrs. Daniels. Honorary pallbearers: Richard Wagner, Charlie Cook, Sandi Collins, Roy Cochran, Hal Williamson, Larry Cochran, and Scott Barclay. Interment will be in the Crestlawn Cemetery. Military Honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
