Robert A. Fuchs

Robert A. Fuchs, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 28, 1936, in the city of New York, Bob was the son of Carl A. Fuchs and Alice Knapp Fuchs.

Bob's early life was marked by remarkable athletic prowess. A natural at sports, he particularly excelled in basketball, shining brightly as a star player during his years at Damascus High School in Damascus, Pennsylvania, from which he graduated in 1955. His talents and determination extended beyond the court as he proudly served his county in the United States Navy, employing the values of dedication and service.

After his military service, Bob found his calling in the world of business and education. He became the proud owner of LeRoy's Appliances in Winter Haven, Florida, where his expertise in electronics and his genuine desire to help others earned him a stellar reputation. Later, he dedicated himself to the education sector, working as a school janitor in Stanley County, North Carolina, where his honest and caring nature made a lasting impact on students and staff alike.

Bob was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge, where he formed lifelong friendships and contributed to his community. His hobbies reflected his diverse interests and skills; he was known for his ability to repair almost anything, a testament to his inquisitive mind and meticulous nature.

In his personal life, Bob was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Julia Pruett Fuchs. He is survived by son Dale Fuchs and daughter Karen Love-Freeman, and a supportive stepfather to Marjorie "Missy" Lucas. Bob's legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Eric Trent Love, Brandon Love, and Heather Fuchs Crump, as well as his great-grandchild, Henry Crump. He also leaves behind step grandchildren and great-grandchildren Kaylee Tillman, Emery Cheeks, Amber Campbell, Tauren Campbell, Stephanie Fox, Elliott Fox, and Megan Tillman, all of whom will cherish his memory.

Bob is survived by brothers Ronald, Donald and sister Debbie Nicholson. Bob was proceeded in death by brothers Richard, Carl Jr., and Douglas, and his sister Dorothy Satterly. Bob was also predeceased by his beloved great-grandson, Bryson Love.

Bob's gentile spirit and unwavering honesty touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. In honoring his life, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers, as a fitting tribute to Bob's generous and compassionate heart. 

As we bid farewell to Robert A. Fuchs, we remember a life well lived, filled with love, laughter, and an enduring legacy of integrity and kindness. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
