Robin Albertson

Robin S. Albertson, age 73, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026.

Robin was born on September 1, 1952, in Glassboro, New Jersey. She spent her childhood and much of her adult life in South Florida, where she built a life centered around family, creativity, and adventure.

Robin shared 52 years of marriage with her husband, Stephen Albertson. Together, they were introduced to the North Georgia mountains when family retired in Blairsville. Both were captivated by the beauty and serenity of the Blue Ridge Mountains, making the decision to leave Florida and relocate permanently to the area in 1993.

A longtime business owner, Robin dedicated many years to creating unique shopping experiences throughout the North Georgia and North Carolina mountain communities. Over the course of approximately 20 years, she owned and operated the Ole' House General Mercantile in Young Harris before transitioning to The Nostalgic Village in Blairsville, and then later downsizing the business to Cold Creek Bed & Bath in downtown Blue Ridge.

Robin had a passion for quilts, antiques, dolls, glassware, and collecting, and she especially enjoyed discovering unique treasures and finding a good bargain. Her remarkable ability to create beautiful and eye-catching displays brought a sense of wonder and delight to those who visited her shops. Her creativity and distinctive style will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and members of the community.

She and Stephen shared a love of travel and spent many memorable years exploring the country in their RV. Among their favorite adventures were touring the National Parks, Alaska and rafting the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.

Robin will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Stephen; her two children, Jason and Erin; her three grandchildren, William, Cole, and Trey; and her sister, Holly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pam; father, William; and brother, Gary.

No immediate services are being held. The family is grateful for all thoughts, prayers, and well wishes during this time of remembrance.
