Roger Ross, 71, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away at his home on July 12, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Tain and Aleane Ross.

Roger lived his life and to know him was to know his witty sense of humor and joking grin. He loved to make others laugh and enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, riding his motorcycle, and eating a great meal. He was a man of few words, but, when he did speak, his intentional wit was felt across the room. He often spent his weekends with his wife and daughters taking road trips and exploring old and new places. Roger loved to travel, and in the last few years, he enjoyed an Alaskan cruise, Las Vegas trips, Grand Canyon explorations, and an East Coast road trip spanning over 2,000 miles winding through the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway.

Roger’s work ethic preceded him. He worked with Sisson, Dupont, and Carder for over 30 years and spent his lifetime building and crafting for others. 

Roger will be remembered and missed by those who knew and loved him. He genuinely enjoyed living life.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Hyatt) Ross; three daughters, Tiffany Brown, Allyson (Josh) Tidwell, and Kimberly Ross; grandchildren, Parker (Kaylee) Brown, Harrison Brown, Gavin Tuck, Caileigh Tuck, and Emma Tidwell; great grandchildren, Elliana Brown and Gunner Brown. He also leaves behind siblings Phyllis (James) Keeble and Richard Ross, along with Julie (Eric) Welch and Mae Williams, close family friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home of Blue Ridge with Rev. John Newton officiating.

The family will receive friends at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home of Blue Ridge on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.

Interment will follow at Salem Baptist #2 in Mineral Bluff, GA.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Parker Brown, Gavin Tuck, Harrison Brown, Jimmy Dupont, Tate Eaton, and Chris Dupont.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Sisson, Jim Dupont, Doyle Carder, and Pam Patterson.
