It is with both heavy hearts and deep gratitude that we announce the passing of our beloved Ronald Eugene Emerich, who departed this life to spend eternity with Jesus on October 22, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on September 21, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida, Ron was an adventurous soul whose life was a journey filled with love, laughter, and a passion for life that touched everyone around him.
Ron was a proud graduate of Georgia Tech, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering. He dedicated many years to Southern Bell in the telephone industry, and after "retirement," he worked in youth ministry and as a high school math & science teacher. He remains an avid Georgia Tech football fan even through the tough years, and there have been many. Ron was proud of his Alma Mater.
In 2015, Ron made the move from Snellville to Hiawassee, Georgia, where he embraced the beauty of the mountains and the joys of small-town life. He was the loving husband of Glenda Emerich, and together they built a wonderful life filled with cherished memories and adventures.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Robinson; his father, Ian "Robbie" Robinson; and his brother, Stephen Edward Robinson.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Dianne Emerich; sons, William Glen (Jennifer) Emerich of Big Sandy, TN, and Michael Lee (Wendy) Emerich of Port Royal, SC; his brother, Thomas David Robinson of Pawleys Island, SC, and sister, Susan Ellen Robinson of Palm Beach Garden, FL; and a vibrant group of grandchildren, Rebecca Lindsay (Jacob) Johnson, Noah Eugene (Kayla) Emerich, Hayden Dianne Emerich, Abigayle Elizabeth Emerich, Ethan Zachary Emerich, and Ellie Laine Emerich; As well as two great grandchildren: Sadie Mae Johnson and Weston Jake Johnson who will forever carry his legacy in their hearts.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Coosa Methodist Church in Blairsville, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 26th, at Coosa Methodist Church.
