Mr. Ronald Howard Smith, Sr., age 63 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Union General Hospital. Mr. Smith was born Tuesday, April 20, 1943 in Roanoke, VA to the late Ernest Lee Smith, Sr. and the late Doreen Grey Smith. Mr. Smith was a very active member of Coosa United Methodist Church which he loved.

Survivors include: wife, Lynne Smith of Blairsville, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Howard Jr. and Lisa Smith of Goochland, VA, daughter, Jamie Lynne White of Tarpon Springs, FL, daughter, Jennifer Leigh Cuozzo of Mineral, VA, daughter and son-in-law, Sonya Renee and Jon Gierke of Savage, MN, daughter, Leigh Anne White of Winter Park, FL, sister and brother-in-law, Debra Jean and William C. Catoe of Tampa, FL, brother and sister-in-law, Ernest Lee Jr. and Kathy Smith of Roanoke, VA and granddaughters, Brittney Renee Cuozzo, Nikki Leigh Cuozzo, Taylor Christ Cuozzo and Samantha Joan Gierke.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Coosa United Methodist Church with the Rev. Katie Strals and Rev. Earl Bishop officiating. Music will be provided by James Stephens, Jerry Levalley and Angela Holloway. Interment will follow in Coosa United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Christopher Catoe, Taylor Catoe, Jeff Mount, Jo Gierke, Gene Christie, and John Esau. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary escort to the family: Wendell Cross and Bill Catoe.
The family will receive friends from 1-2, Friday, January 26 at Coosa United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Coosa United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2850 Mulkey Gap Road, Blairsville, GA 30512;
please specify on your check "In Memory of Ron Smith".

The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
