Roy "Joe" Gilbert Satterfield Jr., 75, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023, at his home in Blairsville, GA. Joe was born January 19, 1948, in Porterdale, GA to Roy and Ruby Satterfield.

Joe was preceded in death by father, Roy Satterfield Sr; mother, Ruby Satterfield. He is survived by his wife Betty Satterfield; son; Justin Satterfield; daughter Joy Kummel; grandson Charles Hill; grandson Lance Hill; granddaughter Andelin Hill; granddaughter Corinne Hill; grandson J.C. Kummel; sister Brenda (Larry) Roberts. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he is a deacon.

He was married to his wife, Betty, for over 54 years. He enjoyed work, golf, fishing, and time with family. He retired from Blue Ridge Mountain EMC as the General Manager, where he worked for over 24 years. He retired in December of 2009. He then worked with his son, Justin, restoring cars. He was also known as Pop.

The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday February 1, 2023, at 11:30 AM at First Baptist Church Blairsville. Dr. Fred Lodge and Pastor Ricky Powell will be officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Charles Hill, Lance Hill, Dennis Thompson, Larry Roberts, Terry Taylor, and Larry Kernea. Burial will be in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
