Shannan Delores Tenney

June 26, 1990 — May 12, 2026

Mrs. Shannan Delores Tenney, age 35, of Woodstock, GA, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, peacefully at home in Woodstock, GA. Shannan was born June 26, 1990, in Murphy, NC to Paul and Regina Mashburn.

Shannan was preceded in death by her grandfather, Leonard Mashburn; grandmother, Lillie Mashburn; and grandmother, Reva Woodmansee

She is survived by her spouse, Benjamin Tenney; father, Paul Mashburn; mother, Regina Mashburn; daughter, Lillie Tenney; brother, Adam Mashburn; sister, Leigh Cannon; grandfather, Michael Woodmansee; grandmother, Frances Howard; and grandfather, CC Howard.

Shannan was compassionate, loyal, funny and had a personality that you immediately love. She was honest to a fault and full of love, especially for her daughter Lillie. Shannan liked to sing, write, draw, and do arts and crafts. She loved camping and being outdoors. While a short time, Shannan loved volunteering at the local barn for abused animals. She had also been a part of many choirs throughout the years. Shannan was a child at heart. She loved Christmas and Easter. On Christmas she would always be the first one up at 3 am to get the rest of the house up to unwrap presents and to spend time with her family. She would always shake presents before Christmas to see what was in them as she couldn't handle the wait. She also got so excited that she could never seem to wait until Christmas to gift her gifts to someone. Shannan decided that she wanted to make a difference in others' lives, especially after our daughter Lillie was born with special needs. Shannan decided to become a Special Education English Teacher to make a difference in high schoolers lives to teach those that had been forgotten about. She was loved by her students. She got her Master's Degree in Education while living in Spain, then moved back to the States. She handled the birth of our daughter and the needs that she had. Shannan was a beacon of light for us and always cared more for others than she did herself. Throughout the adversity and troubles Shannan had endured throughout the last 4 years of her life battling brain cancer, she never gave up. She never said "why me" and she continued to fight to survive. Shannan never wavered in her beliefs in God and where she was going when the time came. She was a warrior and will be remembered as such.
