Susan O Mudy

Susan O. Mudy, age 63, of Indiana and Illinois and most recently of Blairsville, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph T. Mudy, with whom she shared many cherished years together.

Sue is survived by her siblings: Dearest sister of Rosalinda Ortega, Ramon (Mary) Ortega, Jose (Christine) Ortega, Tony (Maria) Ortega, late George (Kimberly) Ortega, late David Ortega; sister-in-law of John Michael (late Christine) Mudy, and Tommy Mudy. Loving aunt of Tony Jr. (Alison), Ray (Martha), Tomas (Jackie), Nina (Ryan) Bischoff, Brian Mudy, Tina Mudy. Preceded in death by her parents Ramon and Dolores Ortega. She was fortunate enough to have made several friends in her new hometown of Blairsville: Jacob, Isaac, Pete along with many friendly faces… the folks at the gas station, the ladies at the flea market, and the sweet lady from the bakery.

Sue was known for her kindness, compassion, and genuine love for those around her. She was an avid sports fan, following IU Basketball, the Chicago Bears, and then her beloved Georgia Bulldogs. She had a successful 30-year career in banking and found joy traveling with Joe. She treasured her memories of their many traveling adventures. Because with Sue, it was always an adventure. Her smile, her laugh, and kind spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all.

Arrangements entrusted to Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home, 41 Hunt Martin St., Blairsville, GA. Visitation is Saturday, May 17th, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sue will be laid to rest with Joe, the love of her life, at Georgia National Cemetery – Canton, GA.
