Ted Cross

Ted Eugene Cross, age 70, passed away at his home in Hayesville, North Carolina on Sunday, June 21, 2026. He was born in Hayesville on June 22, 1955 to the late William Thomas and Pearl Garrett Cross. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Junior Cross, Larry Ray Cross, and Terry Lee Cross; sisters, Eva Cross, Helen Cross Maney and Lucille Cross Abernathy.

He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Cross and Jamie Cross; brothers, Jessie Dwight Cross and Michael Anthony Cross; sisters, Bertha Ann Cross McCray, Shirley Jo Cross Clemons and Mayme Cross; grandchildren, Breana Cross, Britney Cross, Jaycie Cross, and Eliegh Cross. Many additional extended family members and many friends also survive.

Mr. Cross loved being out in God's created nature. Hunting and fishing gave him great peace and pleasure. He was a lifetime member of the Hiawassee River Bass Club. Ted was a very friendly person with a multitude of friends. He fought a strong and courageous battle against cancer for nine years. He was man of faith in God and was a member of Martin Hill Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
