Todd Andrew Gillespie, age 52, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Athens, GA on May 18, 1974, he was the son of Ronald Douglas and Patricia Wallin Gillespie.
Growing up in Blue Ridge, he became a part of the community and loved the small-town environment. He found his greatest joy in the quiet spaces of life, free from the noise of the modern urban world. He often sat on the deck watching the deer in the yard nearby. He deeply appreciated the comfort of his own home and found contentment in simpler routines and never sought the spotlight.
He enjoyed playing basketball and graduated from Fannin County High School where he was a member of the marching band and the baseball team. At LaGrange College he received a degree in social work and criminal justice, played baseball and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
He proudly served in law enforcement in Fannin and Gilmer Counties and East Ellijay. Employment also included Walmart and Ingles grocery stores.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by the mother of his children, Suzanne Gillespie, daughters, Emma and Megan, sister Leighanne Lusk (Chris), and nieces, Meredith and Isabelle. Survivors also include uncles and aunts, Charles (Ann), Harold (Linda) and Larry (Cindy), cousins and friends, Cheryl Martin and Nandy Loudermilk.
He liked lake living and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan enjoying watching fall football games. He was of the Baptist faith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7 in Blue Ridge at the Cochran McDaniel funeral home from 12:00-2:00 with graveside service at Chastain Memorial Park at 2:00.
