Tommy Gribble

Tommy Ray Gribble was a resident of Hayesville, NC. He was born April 15, 1948 to Alton and Bonnie Gribble and was raised in Hiawassee, GA. He graduated from Towns County High School in December of 1966.

He served in the United States Army from 1968-1970 and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and then South Korea.

He drove a truck for Crystal Farms for 26 years. Later, he retired after 6 years with Southern Concrete.

He enjoyed horses from a young age and throughout his life. He was also a fan of car racing, NASCAR, even owning his own race car at one point.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; a son, Darrell Thomas Gribble; and also a brother-in-law, Junior Kitchens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Jean; his daughter, Dana Jenkins (Henry); one sister, Karen Kitchens; a brother, Mike Gribble (Patsy), all of Hayesville; a brother, Joel Gribble (Lorie) of Peachtree; One aunt, Loree Ledford; one brother-in-law, Ronnie Maney; and one sister-in-law, Anna Dean Penland (David),and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home of Hiawassee.

Services for Mr. Tommy Gribble will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, 2:00 PM at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Ash officiating. Music provided by Mike Garrett. Burial will follow at Lower Bell Creek Church Cemetery in Hiawassee, Georgia.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Jason Gribble, Connor Gribble, Michael Anderson, Ronnie Maney, Harold Dean Parker, and Michael Tate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lower Bell Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
