Walter H. McIntyre, Jr. age 78 of Hiawassee, Georgia and Eustis, Florida died Saturday October 13, 2007 at his home.

Mr. Mc Intyre was born November 3, 1928 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Walter H. McIntyre Sr. and Gladys Cornett McIntyre. He attended Ashland public schools and recieved his BS degree in Commerce from Northwestern University in Evanston , Ill. and his MBA from the University of Kentucky. Walter was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956 as a B-29 pilot and in the Strategic Air Command as a B-47 pilot.

Mr. McIntyre married Paula Barnes of Hobart, Oklahoma, September 15, 1956.

He was employed by Bache and Company as an investment broker and joined A.G. Edwards and Sons in 1964 as a partner and southeastern regional manager. He built his region from 5 offices to 48 offices in three states. He retired from A.G. Edwards and Sons after 21 years as regional manager, Senior Vice President, and a member of the board of directors. He served on the board of arbitration for the National Association of Securities Dealers.

One of the accomplishments he was most proud of, was achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Mr. McIntyre is survived by his daughters Tracy McIntyre Belton, Mt. Dora, Florida, Dr. Shelly McIntyre, New Castle, Virginia, Dr. Jill McIntyre Golson, Alpharetta, Georgia, his brother Dr. Ray McIntyre, Eustis, Flordia, and five grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
