Rev. Willard Luther Roberson, Jr., age 73, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2024 in Murphy, North Carolina. Rev. Roberson was born on May 18, 1951 to the late Willard Luther Roberson, Sr. and Eula Mae Mashburn Roberson.
Rev. Roberson maintained a strong Christian faith throughout the years. He was an ordained minister of the Gospel serving the following churches during his ministry; Mount Olive, Snow Hill, and Culberson Baptist Churches. He maintained a strong work ethic providing for his family and others. He often enjoyed purchasing and buying meals for his grandchildren to share together. Rev. Roberson enjoyed being in God's created nature whether spending the day fishing or the night coon hunting. His impact will last in the lives of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnny Ray Roberson; sisters, Linda Sue Jones and Martha Byers. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Ledford Roberson; children, Donald (Martha) Roberson, Ronnie (Kimberly) Roberson and Travis (Amanda) Roberson; brother, Marvin Roberson; grandchildren, Kevin Roberson, Stacy Roberson, Skyler Roberson, Zoey Roberson, Matthew Roberson, Cheyenne Roberson, Amos Roberson, Brandon Rymer, Amanda Rymer and Amber Rymer; great grand children; Autumn Roberson, Hunter Roberson and Truman Roberson.
Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 12 noon from the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Eddie Tranthem and Rev. Keith Mashburn officiating. Music will be provided by David Ledford, Meritta Tranthem and Rene Payne. Interment will in the Mashburn Family Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at the Cochran-McDaniel on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 6 pm until 8 pm and on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 11am until the 12-noon funeral service hour.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Joe Akins, Tim Ledford, Shawn Ledford, Jimmy Tranthem, Stacy Roberson and Kevin Roberson; honorary pallbearers will be Mark Conley and Brian Roberson.
