William "Bill" Arthur Gregory

66 years old of Nantahala, NC passed away peacefully at his home on Christmas eve. 

Bill worked for Macon county EMS, was a former chief of Nantahala volunteer fire dept ., worked for MPP housing and was a member of the masonic lodge #0529 of Andrews

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bill loved being outdoors looking for arrowheads, rock hounding, metal detecting and tinkering on his trucks. He loved riding his Gold Wing on different outings with long time friends. His favorite pastime was out loafering and goofing off with friends & family. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather (Pappy), and he loved his family, especially his grandbabies.

Bill was proceeded in death by his Granny Day (Ora), The love of his life Sheryl Morgan Gregory who passed March 14, 2010 and his father Frank Gregory who passed Dec. 24, 2001.

Bill is survived by his mother Grace Gregory of the home, son Shane Gregory and fiancé Erin, daughter Tracy Fuller and husband Barry all of Nantahala. Grandson Tyler Fuller and wife Amelia of Knoxville, TN. Granddaughter Monika Newton and husband Colton of Nantahala. Great grandchildren Kashdon & Kaisley Newton of Nantahala and two great grandchildren J and Z also of Nantahala. Sister Marie of Andrews, NC. Brother in law Kenny Morgan and wife Jennifer of West Va. and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family.

Bill was a member of Rowlands Creek Baptist Church, and was so thankful for all the love and support everyone there showed him throughout all the many years.

Pall bearers will be Marty Holloway, Michael Taylor, Stanley Gibson, David Holloway, Donald Cross, Brad Day, and Rick DeVore. Honorary Pall bearers will be Roy Stiles and Syd May.

Services will be held at Rowlands Creek Baptist Church on Saturday, December 28th. Visitation from 10:00am - 12:00pm. Funeral Service 12:00pm - 1:30pm with Masonic Funeral Rites to follow. Burial will be at Bethel Hill Cemetery directly after services have concluded.

Officiants of the services will be Dana Dockery, Eugene Taylor, and Brad Day.
