William Daniel Nicholson

William Daniel Nicholson, age 73, better known as "Danny", passed away on October 18, 2026. Danny was born on April 7, 1953, to Lawrence and Vivian Nicholson.

He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Lawrence and Vivian, better known as "Leo" Nicholson; brother Reid and his wife Eula Mae, sisters Helen Mashburn and Geraldine Mashburn, and sister-in-law Etta Ruth Greenway.

Danny is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Nicholson. Sons Jody and wife Tommie and Nathan Nicholson; grandchildren, RyLee and Preston Nicholson, brothers Randal, David and Sue, Joel and Anita and Stevie, Sister Tammy and Kenneth Watkins, brother-in-law Eddie Greenway, sister-in-law Anita Long who he loved like a sister and an uncle Gary Greenway. Many nieces and nephews survive.

He loved nothing better than a cup of coffee, riding his scooter to town and stopping by Conoco for another cup of coffee and visiting with the many friends he had made in town over the years, ending the day at home enjoying a bag of popcorn and his faithful little dog, Tucker, that he loved sitting at his side.

Funeral Service, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM from Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Curtis Teague, Pastor Joshua Teague, and Rev. Daniel Morrison to officiate.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home of Blue Ridge from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
